With fresh horses stationed along the route and a caffeinated rider, I&#039;m sure it could have been done in less time. Or, maybe you could ask someone like http://www.transportblog.com/ to come up with two other cities that would have resulted in a higher MPH.

You might want to mention that the recruits in question were only fourteen-year-olds.

		<description>In the 1800&#039;s the British Royal Navy was considered &quot;hell on water&quot; and only the truly desperate would voluntarily enlist (probably why they started stealing sailors off of other ships).. I would say that while poverty and lack of maturation was definately key factor in the height disparity, I think that it should be taken into account that these recruits had few other options, given the competition of larger, more physical persons.</description>
