Hi Kieran,

Sorry, no chance that this new incarnation of the Fenian raids is going to work in Canada—at least if our universities keep their pro-Canadian citizen discriminatory policies in hiring. I personally think that these policies are a pretty silly idea, but I kinda selfishly hope that they keep them until I graduate and get me a tenure track position…

I was wondering why my best Irish friend had just moved back to the States.

He’s “a social scientist born, raised and educated in Ireland, with a Ph.D from an American University and currently a researcher at think tank in NYC, more or less at the eastern border of the United States.”
