Friday Lunchtime Ideas…

… are usually not the best ideas, especially when you have some kind of horrible sinus/allergy thing going on. However, I think the world is ready for

Blogger DeathMatch

People would pay good money, I’m telling you. Feel free to suggest others. As an added bonus (because the Sudafed isn’t working yet), play a game I invented when booking a flight this morning:

Nineteenth Century Feminist or Large Comfortable Hotel?

  • Elizabeth Cady Stanton.
  • Marriot Wardman Park.
  • Charlotte Perkins Gilman.
  • Madison Monona Hilton.
  • Matila Joslyn Gage.
  • Judith Wright Court.

Death Match

Kieran Healy proposes a series of Blogger DeathMatches including Matt Yglesias vs. Matt Welch. I’m game if Mr. Welch will rise to the challenge, though I must admit to being somewhat unclear on what the nature of the challenge is…

Ha! Thanks for the hotel list—you gave me the first real laugh of the day.

Kieran,

Ack, I seem to have the same type of malady that you have. You still managed to get a solid laugh out of me with both parts of that post.

I do have a deathmatch suggestion:

Kieran Healy vs. Kieran Lyons

Actually, it would be a bit of mismatch, since EvilMirrorWorld!Kieran is a bit of a tool. But I would watch it for the blood, anyway…

The feminst or hotel thing makes me wonder … are you by chance a fan of the late Brunching Shuttlecocks?

I prefered Throat Virus or Lithuanian Basketball Player?

Eric, if I’m a bit of a ‘tool’ I’ll need some hint as to what you mean by that. I’ve heard that term used as both a positive and a negative.

If, however, you are trying to call me a “dick” I would appreciate if you sling your slurs in a more direct manner, rather than sliding them into an innocent third person’s weblog.
